I had a "physical drop" in this defeat against Sanguinetti.

Carlos Moyá confessed that his performance against the Italian Davide Sanguinetti was not good and his elimination of the U.S. Open was the logical consequence of the low performance he had.

"I began the match very well, I controlled it, but my rival started to complicate the things and didn't let me react", declared Moyá, that lost 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 and 6-4.

"I haven't been well physically, I felt weak and I couldn't react in the fourth Set", added Moya. Moyá, 29 years, that admitted that he could not remove positive things from the match, said that playing in the morning, was not a reason that had harmed him, even if he has been inactive since Tuesday.

"Two days off break the rhythm of the match and you can see it in my performance, because it is like beginning a match again, but is something that only happens here and you must accept it", said Moyá.

"Resting makes forget the sensations of the matches you had won and you become disconnected from the match".

Physical drop

Moyá said that the "physical drop" he suffered was, at the end, the main reason which made him unable to react and to avoid the defeat, first of all, it was the first time that he loses to Sanguinetti after 5 meetings since 2001.

"it was difficult to run, to move, then I entered in a hole which I could not leave", admitted Moyá.

"I fell very bad and nothing can make change the result". Moyá recognized that he left the tournament with "an ugly" sensation because he had a favorable draw in the fourth round and was motivated to advance.

Um... Carlos is not on the Draws for Stuttgart or Indianapolis or Amersfoort.
... Buaaa. ;_;
Anyone knows the reason? I'm blank here. This weekend he played for an exhibition here, in Benidorm, with Ferrer, but I don't know anything else (Lopez and Ferrero are out of the picture too, which I find weird. Are all of them still resting?).

I linked to this in a comment thread but I figured that . . . given Carlos' current state, it would be best if everyone knew about this.

Project Carlos Moya.

The idea was at Carlos-Moya.Net but since that site is gone the project has moved to MTF and the fanclub at MSN - I think? If you haven't heard about it, this is the basic gist of it all.

The point of the project is to remind Carlos that he has fans that will remain fans no matter what his ranking is or his tournament results. To take part in this project, all you have to do is get a postcard and write a small note to Carlos, and then mail it off to enqvistfan. Right now, the drop off is looking to be around September-ish.

I myself will be taking part in the project once I get a postcard - early next week =D - and I hope that some of you will also do the same to help cheer up Carlos. =DD
